Laurie describes herself as a “Jack of all trades, master of none”

Her varied career started in 1989 as receptionist/office administrator for a local Chartered Accountancy firm, back in the day when technology was in the form of one very large computer and the Wordstar word processing package.
From there, she moved to a local electronics firm which specialised in electrical default recorders, her role was office administration and purchase ledger accounting. It was around this time that technology started to “boom” so she is very much self taught in her IT skills. It was also during this time, through the Investor in People scheme that she part qualified with the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT).
After four plus years in that industry Laurie moved into a purchasing role with a local fastener company. This was eventually to become more of a financial position due to company restructure which was to last more than 13 years.
Other finance roles followed before she ventured into Customer Services in February 2015. This move saw her in a busy performance based role with various administration duties in the background within a printing a distribution company.
Although she enjoyed her time in Customer Services she always wanted to get back to her “finance administration” roots and is delighted to join the Design ID Team.
