Niamh Treanor

Engineer - DD: 028 9592 4613

MEng

Following graduation from Queen’s University Belfast in 2019, Niamh subsequently joined Design ID with a 1st Class MEng in Structural Engineering with Architecture.

Since beginning her early career, Niamh has dived into a large variety of works from solving challenging temporary works design solutions for a range of infrastructure projects, to carrying out structural condition assessment surveys at the dramatic Gobbins Cliff Path, and other significant National Trust heritage sites in the Mount Stewart region. Niamh’s most notable projects to date include her role as design engineer at the Crossrail Western Section Station – Ealing Broadway, and as Project Engineer on both the Monaghan Regional & Local Roads Bridge Rehabilitation Works and the Blackwater Bridge Replacement Project. Niamh’s role on the Blackwater Bridge replacement led to her success in the ICE (NI) graduate and student’s competition, where she has been titled the regional Emerging Engineer Winner of 2021.

As part of her personal STEM ambassador goals, Niamh has been promoted to the Secretary position on the ICE Graduate and Students Committee, where she is actively involved in advocating Civil/Structural Engineering to younger females in schools, and both graduates and students alike. Niamh hopes to fulfil her roles and commitment within the committee, leading up to her position as Chair.

In her spare time, Niamh is actively involved with her local Gaelic football Club and holds numerous honours from her experience on both the County Monaghan Senior Ladies and Queen’s Ladies O’Connor Cup panels. She also enjoys singing in her local Parish choir, playing the piano and on occasion baking cakes for her colleagues!
