Design ID have been appointed as the structural engineers for the conversion of this Grade II* Listed residence from an office space to a fine dining restaurant.
The scope involves the justification of the existing timber floors, an assessment of the Edwardian period, cantilever stone grand staircase, and an assessment of the Georgian cantilever timber staircase. An inspection and maintenance strategy is also being developed for the multiple fibrous plaster ceilings.
Due to the high service demands for restaurants and commercial kitchens, Design ID have been working closely with the architect, building services engineer and the Historic England conservation officer to cater for these requirements with absolute minimal alterations to the building fabric.
