The Kingston House project involved the construction of residential developments on a confined site at the top of an existing Network Rail embankment near Brondesbury Park in London . As part of the planning conditions, approval of the project from Network Rail was required. We used our extensive railway knowledge to act as the Contractors Responsible Engineer and Contractors Engineering Manager for the project. As part of this role we submitted Design and Check certificates to Network Rail for both the Permanent and Temporary works.
We also undertook a slope stability analysis to prove that the proposed works did not increase the risk of landslip of the existing embankment. Further to this we developed a Safe System of Work, including vibration monitoring, to enable the works to be carried out in a safe manner while protecting the adjacent Network Rail assets. These works unlocked a previously unusable site, which is now providing affordable accommodation.
