The historic infrastructure present throughout the railway network of the UK and Ireland poses a unique challenge that we have enjoyed answering. Our experience ranges from untangling the red tape around developing land adjacent to the railway, getting out on track to complete inspections and assess existing infrastructure, to designing new public realm areas at Crossrail Stations.

Our extensive portfolio, viewable here, showcases our ability to deliver diverse projects on or near the line, from residential development at the top of railway embankments, to the mega railway projects of Crossrail & Brent Cross Development. We are used to partnering with the full supply chain from the railway authorities (Network Rail, TfL, Translink, Iarnród Éireann), to skilled Construction Teams, to those developers who don’t know what they’re in for when they purchased that brownfield site beside the railway!

Lambeg Railway Station Footbridge Replacement

Design ID were appointed by FPMcCann to provide Temporary Works Design Checking and Technical Approval Advisory services on the refurbishment of an existing footbridge at the Lambeg Railway Station. A key part of the scheme was the design checking of a Temporary Access Footbridge over the railway line, to facilitate removal and repair of the existing footbridge at the station.
