David French

David is a Chartered Civil Engineer with the ICE, specialising in drainage and earthworks design and is an expert in the use of Civil 3D and MicroDrainage software. Following graduation from Ulster University, David joined Doran Consulting where he spent over 13 years gaining experience across a breadth of sectors including Commercial, Energy, Education, Health & Wellbeing and Residential.

David joined Design ID in May 2021 and was promoted to Associate the same year.

He has a keen interest in BIM and collaboration within Integrated Design Teams. David is particularly invested in developing and improving civil engineering design processes to deliver projects effectively and efficiently for his clients.

David has led the civil engineering design on many high-profile projects. Notable schemes include City Quays in Belfast Harbour, Elms Field Redevelopment in Wokingham and Distillery Expansion and Off-Site Maturation facilities for the Old Bushmills Distillery.

Away from work David enjoys DIY and has recently completed renovations of his own home.
