David Madden

David is a Chartered Engineer with over 10 years’ experience in the multi-disciplinary design and construction of high profile sports, commercial, cultural, conservation, educational, health and integrated infrastructure development projects around the world. He studied Civil Engineering at NUI Galway and graduated having been awarded the ‘P.J. Tobin Gold Medal’. He was nominated for the Engineers Ireland / ‘Siemens Innovative Engineer of the Year’ for his FYP on Crowd Excitation of Stadia. Since graduation, David has worked at design offices in London, New York, Dublin & Sydney. As well as enjoying new experiences and cultures, he has developed a strong passion for design over this time. Particularly enjoying working with clients & collaborators to deliver holistic solutions. David possesses a strong passion for digital innovation particularly with respect to new design potential. He has particular interest in the field of user focused design, robotics and machine learning. He is an advocate of research and has completed a number of AEC research projects. David has been a guest lecturer and tutor at UNSW for the Bachelor of Computational Design programme and has a developing interest in the role that Structural Engineers play in the Circular Economy.
