Ronan studied a Masters Degree in Civil Engineering at Queen’s University Belfast and graduated top of his class in 2015, winning the Institution of Civil Engineer’s Student Prize. Throughout University, he completed a number of Civil and Structural Engineering placements for Consulting and Contracting firms in Northern Ireland.
Following graduation, Ronan joined Design ID as a Graduate Engineer in 2015. Throughout his career to date, Ronan has been involved in a diverse range of projects, from the design of buildings, bridges and civil infrastructure, to structural inspections and assessments of existing assets. Across his projects, he has acted in number of capacities to include Permanent Works Engineer, Temporary Works Engineer and Employer’s Representative / Project Manager. These experiences allow Ronan to bring various perspectives to projects and develop pragmatic solutions for our clients. Notable projects Ronan has worked on include the Connswater Bridge, Ballynameen Bridge, Brentford Community Stadium and Frederick Street Multi-Storey Car Park.
Ronan became a Chartered Member of the Institution of Civil Engineers in 2020 and now fulfils the role of Associate. Ronan works in a client facing role, taking the lead on the design development and management for several Civil Infrastructure and Temporary Works projects. Ronan is active in the local and national engineering institutions, acting as Chair of the ICE NI Graduates and Students Committee for the 2019-2020 programme card.
Fun Fact: In his spare time, Ronan produces electronic dance music.
