Carlos Rojao

Carlos graduated with a Master’s degree in Structural Engineering with Architecture from Queen’s University Belfast in 2019, and soon after started working with Design ID as a Structural Engineer. Carlos gained extensive experience as a site engineer during his placement year with Farrans Construction where he worked on multiple, large educational building projects in England involving new-build and refurbishment works, but he developed a passion for the design of structures during his studies at University. Since joining the team at Design ID, Carlos has worked on a wide variety projects in the Building Structures Team, ranging from multi-storey reinforced concrete frames to small domestic steel structures. He enjoys the diverse nature of projects involved, the range of materials and collaboration involved in solving technical problems, and he looks forward to continuing to contribute and learn. Carlos was the Chairperson of the IStructE NI Young Members Group during the year 2019-2020, responsible for the organisation of popular events and competitions among the young engineering community, and he enjoys playing golf in his spare time.
