Sophie Hughes

Sophie gained a BSc in Environmental Science at Ulster University. On a placement year working as a Sustainability Assistant for the university Estates department, Sophie realised Environmental Sustainability, was her passion and continued her sturies to complete a Masters in Global Strategies for Environmental Health and Sustainability.

Sophie is a Graduate Member of the Chartered Institute of Water and Environmental Management (CIWEM), an organisation committed to the sustainable management of the environment. CIWEM strives to protect the public from pollution, environmental degradation, and natural hazards by promoting and sharing best practices.

Since joining Design ID as a graduate Environmental and Sustainability Engineer, She has become a Certified BREEEAM Infrastructure Assessor. BREEAM Infrastructure is the sustainability rating system for Civil and Infrastructure projects, it is an evidence-based sustainability assessment, rating and awards scheme for civil engineering, infrastructure, landscaping and public realm projects.

In her spare time Sophie enjoys mountain hiking and trying out different crafts and bakes.
