Declan Coleman

Declan is a seasoned Senior Digital Engineer with over 5 years of experience in geospatial solutions for the AEC industry. He joined Design ID in June 2024, bringing a deep well of knowledge and expertise in geospatial technologies, especially in developing and architecting advanced geospatial solutions.

Throughout his career, Declan has shown a strong grasp of geospatial tech and how it can be applied across various fields. He’s a whiz with ArcGIS, creating and managing complex geospatial databases, running detailed spatial analyses, and designing user-friendly maps that help with decision-making. His skills with FME (Feature Manipulation Engine) make him a pro at transforming and automating spatial data workflows, boosting operations and data accuracy.

Declan is passionate about all things data. He’s always exploring the latest in data science, machine learning, and geospatial analytics to stay ahead in the industry. His curiosity and drive for professional growth have led him to dive into enterprise-scale cloud architecture, where he sees huge potential for revolutionising large-scale geospatial data management and analysis.

When he's not knee-deep in geospatial projects, Declan stays active in the geospatial community. He contributes to open-source projects like Missing Maps for OpenStreetMap, showing his dedication to making a difference in the field.

Fun fact – Declan is an avid reef aquarist. His dream holiday would be spent diving, volunteering with coral conservation organisations, helping to replenish the depleting coral reefs in the wild.
